Sprouts Allergy Documentation in Brightwheel

If a child has an allergy or food restriction, their profile in Brightwheel should have the following format:

• Restriction: No [item(s) they cannot eat], [related item that they can eat] OK
• Food Allergy: No [item(s) they cannot eat] - [any special information about reaction etc.]
• Other Allergy: No [medication etc. that they should not be exposed to]

Other things of note:

• Milk should clarify what kind is being spoken about - for instance “No cow’s milk” vs “No milk.”
• You can note about “same factory ok” IF we have that information directly from a parent.
• Restriction means that they are restricted for moral, religious, or cultural reasons. Allergy means that their body has a reaction to it, whether it is severe or mild.
• If a child has no allergies or restrictions, leave that area blank in their profile. Do NOT list "none."

EXAMPLES:

• A child needs lactose free or plant milk because they vomit, but they can have other dairy.
  • Food Allergy: No cow’s milk (give lactose free or plant milk) - vomiting, other dairy OK
• A child cannot eat pork or pork products for religious reasons. They have a penicillin allergy.
  • Restriction: No pork or pork products
  • Other Allergy: No penicillin
