KEY POLICY FOR OUTSIDE DOORS

Tree of Life Open Bible Church

1036 Brookline Blvd

Mechanical Keys are provided only for the Senior Pastor, Director of Operations, Sprouts Director, and the Director of Worship. A mechanical key is attached to all Sprouts "Go Bags" in case of emergency. All other keys are to be digital keys, keycards, fobs, or pin access. Mechanical keys will only be handled by the Senior Pastor. Digital keys can be managed by a designee of the Senior Pastor. Below the term "key" refers to both mechanical and digital keys.

  • All key requests are approved by the Senior Pastor or the Director of Operations only. Mechanical keys can only be approved by the Senior Pastor.
  • Keys are to be used by the authorized holder only. Keys are made out to names of people not groups. Keys are assigned to people. Keys are non-transferrable.
  • The requestor must obtain the keys in person at the church office. Spouses and children are not permitted to accept keys for the requestor.
  • Mechanical keys must be returned to the church office by the specified date and in person. Keys cannot be mailed or left in the church office. The Office Administrator or designee will confirm the key’s return and note such in the appropriate column on the Key Control Log.
  • Mechanical keys will not be loaned out for temporary access. A digital pin or card access will be used for people who only need to access the facility for a specific purpose.
  • Keys will not be duplicated, loaned, or made available to others. If someone feels they need a key or access to the facility the must contact the Senior Pastor or Director of Operations for their own access. Being a previous key holder does not automatically qualify a person to have access to a key.
  • Pin access codes will not be shared.
  • Report lost or stolen keys immediately to the church office at (412) 531-0590.
  • Persons to whom keys are issued are responsible for the costs related to replacing lost or broken keys.
  • The church staff reserves the right to request the return of any loaned key at any time.
  • If key holder is not a member of Tree of Life, the appropriate organizational representative must notify the church office within one business day when any person to whom a key is issued leaves their organization or group. The key must be immediately returned to the church office.
  • Tree of Life shall have the authority to periodically review and revise these policies as often as necessary to secure the facility.
  • Tree of Life reserves the right to perform a full or partial key inventory at its sole discretion at any time.
  • There are mechanical keys stored in each lockbox in the facility if there is an emergency need.
