Baptism

Baptisms are scheduled twice a year or as needed.

1. On Pentecost Sunday that coincides with World Baptize Day
2. In the fall, typically the last Sunday in September or early October

After scheduling a date, make a Planning Center event registration page. Search the archive for a previous one and duplicate it and change the dates to the one scheduled.

Here is the text you can use to make a registration page if you can't find an archive.

A water baptism is a wonderful celebration in a Christian's journey of faith! We believe that every believer is called to be baptized at some point in their life.

We celebrate each baptism with the candidate fully submerged in water, so make sure you bring a change of clothes and a towel.

We will ask each candidate a few questions, and you are encouraged to come with a prepared answer to the question "Why did you decide to be baptized?" You can read your answer off a paper, but your answer should include part of what God is doing in your life and how Tree of Life has helped you in your faith journey. Your answer should be anywhere between one sentence and two minutes if read out loud. This is a great opportunity for the members of Tree of Life to learn more about you.

At the end, at least one Pastor and the Baptismal team will pray over you and the whole congregation will be given a chance to celebrate as well!

Below are a few more things to remember:

• Arrive by 10:00 am and sit in the front row of the Sanctuary to meet with a pastor.
• Bring an extra towel
• Bring a change of clothes (don't forget undergarments) Write your answer to the question "Why did you decide to be baptized?"
• Invite as many friends and family you want to celebrate with you!

A TV screen should be updated and posted to the entryway TV as well as the Sunday Announcement folder. Send a message to the slack channel to let someone know a new slide has been added.

there is an evergreen letter that I wrote for stephanie to send out and give away and im not sure if that happened. the letter commuinicates that baptism candidates are supposed to arrive early, bring clothes, etc.  this way we can go over the baptism stuff andpeople know whats going on.

it shouold include links to google drive items like certificates baptism letter copy to be able to copy and paste for planning center etc.
