After the classroom ipads update, it frequently requires a passcode to be created. We as an organization do not want to keep a passcode on the tablets regularly. If you have a tablet that has updated, please complete the following:
- When prompted (after the "hellos") create a passcode of 123456.
- When it says that it is an easy passcode to guess, tap "Use Anyway."
- The next screen with ask about setting up an Apple ID. Choose "Other Options."
- Choose to skip setting up an ID. This may say "Don't Upgrade" as the decline option.
- At this point you should be at the home screen. Tap the settings app (gray gear icon).
- In the settings app, find "Touch ID & Passcode" and tap it. It has a red fingerprint icon next to it.
- Part way down the screen, you will see "Turn Passcode Off." When you tap it, it will prompt you to enter your passcode. It will be the 123456 you just chose moments ago. Once you have done that, it should say "Turn Passcode On" and you have completed shutting off a code requirement to unlock the screen.
PLEASE NOTE: Always make the "new" passcode 123456. The allows Administration quick access in the event the tablet prompts for a passcode for other reasons. The screen is unlocked but the passcode is still saved.
